Our Story
The journey began when our founder, Angela, struggled to find a sunscreen that met her standards. Growing up in sunny Florida, Angela was diligent about daily SPF application. However, she battled dark spots and melasma most of her life. She tried countless sunscreens, but they either didn’t provide enough broad spectrum protection or they made her hyperpigmentation worse.
After consulting with dermatologists and chemists, she learned that many chemical UV filters can cause irritation and oxidative stress, contributing to pigmentation. So in 2015, Angela made it her mission to create safe, effective sun protection products that also target dark spots.
Dominas® Sunscreen was born out of Angela’s struggle to find her perfect sunscreen. After 3 years of extensive R&D, we introduced our first mineral SPF that set a new standard for broad spectrum UVA/UVB defense. Free of chemicals, alcohols and fragrances, our nourishing formulas protect without irritation. Key active ingredients like niacinamide, vitamin C and licorice help fade existing dark spots over time.
Today, the Dominas® line has grown to include tinted and untinted SPF options, specialty eye creams and neck creams with SPF, powder sunscreen, and SPF lip balms. While the products have multiplied, the mission remains the same: provide best-in-class sun protection while combatting hyperpigmentation. Dominas® Sunscreen was founded by Angela Green, a long-time sun protection advocate with a personal mission to improve sunscreen. Angela has an extensive background in natural skincare formulation and decades of experience battling melasma.
